I just had a quick scan of your archives and Emma, you’ve written almost 40 posts on here! So firstly you ARE a writer!

I really connect however to a lot of what you’re saying, my life has always been stories too. It’s how I’ve made sense of my world. Substack to me is a great place to keep honing our craft. So many amazing people to learn from and so much room for exploration.

I think the more you keep exploring in your writing it will only be a matter of time before ‘the idea’ grabs a hold and pushes you in its direction.

💛

Yes yes to your words. I believe in you. I also relate a lot… if I had to choose just one thing to do for the rest of my life it would be writing… it just takes a lot of courage to say that I think! Beautiful you. Xx

I think I could have written this piece. Through Substack, I’m realizing I AM a writer and the door is wide open. This can look like whatever I want/need it to, and it can change as I do! How liberating!

Emma you are here putting your words out into the world. You are a writer. And, more than that, I see someone who wants to give other women the opportunity to speak. Great writers find narratives that connect us all and I think that’s what you are doing here 💗

Have you ever read Stephen Cope’s The Great Work of your Life? It’s a modern interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita and an exploration of finding one’s dharma in our modern world. This idea of finding purpose or the ONE thing that is IT as you say is sometimes misunderstood. All of our paths lead toward IT. You are on the path and being on the path is right 🙂 You’re doing great work here and are an inspiration to many of us!

Ahhhh... I see you. What a beautiful relief to offer yourself, to just make the next move, one foot in front of the other, trusting those footsteps to carve their own path.

I really resonate with your sharing.

I've thrown myself at many different career paths including model, actor, makeup artist, journalist, online magazine founder, and eventually now I'm a mentor and writer and artist, all the things that light me up and are driven from my inside-out.

It's interesting reading your words about the motivating force behind some of your career decisions about helping people with justice and healing. It made me reflect on the common motivating themes in my past and there are two: seeking significance / status, and seeking connection. Each of these from some very lonely low-self-worth places, although it would not have appeared that way to most people.

Thank you for your brave words, as always.X

So delighted you are claiming this and YOU ARE A WRITER! So much resonates, writing has always been a part of me but the pull has become so strong since becoming a mother, it’s what I want to be doing in any moments I am not with them (and sometimes when I am!) we have to keep showing up, for ourselves. Here with you! xx
